TENDER NOTICE NAIROBI ROADS RAPID DECONGESTION PROGRAMME(NRRDP)
The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) is a State Corporation established under the Ministry of Transport & Infrastructure by the Kenya Roads Act, 2007 with the core mandate of management, development, rehabilitation and maintenance of all public roads in Cities and Municipalities in Kenya except where those roads are National Roads.
Congestion  in the City County of Nairobi has been identified as a  major health hazard and  impediment to improved economic activity.  The Government has identified improvement of junctions and key roads as crucial to the decongestion of the City. Under the Nairobi Roads Rapid Decongestion Programme (NRRDP), KURA invites eligible bidders for the following tenders:

Interested bidders MUST be registered with the National Construction Authority (NCA) in categories 4 and above for Lots 1, 2 and 3 Tender nos. KURA/DEV/001/2014-2015, KURA/DEV/002/2014-2015, KURA/DEV/003/2014-2015
A complete set of tender documents may be obtained by interested eligible bidders from
Procurement Office, 1st Floor IKM Place, 5thNgong Avenue Opposite Bishops Gate upon payment of a non- refundable fee of  Kshs. 1,000.00 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only) in form of Banker’s Cheque payable to Kenya Urban Roads Authority or be downloaded free of charge from  www.kura@go.ke/tenders. Bidders are advised to ensure they immediately register at the Procurement Office.  No bidder shall be awarded more than one contract.
Qualification for Tendering (Mandatory)
The bidders are expected to include the following in their bids:-
(a)  Certified copy of Certificate of Registration/Incorporation
(b)  Certified copy of valid Tax Compliance Certifícate
(c)  Certified copy of registration certificate with the NCA in the stated categories
(d)  Certified copy of current CR 12 (last six months)
NB: The certification must be by a Commissioner for Oaths.
The criteria of evaluation of bids
The criteria shall be as described in the tender documents.
Description of Works
The description and scope of works is as described in the tender documents.
Mandatory site visits shall be held on the date and time indicated in the table above, starting from the KURA Head Office situated at IKM Place along 5thNgong Avenue.
Prices quoted should include all taxes and must be expressed in Kenya Shillings and shall remain valid for a period of 120 days from the date of tender opening.
Completed tender documents enclosed in separate plain sealed envelopes and clearly marked with the respective Tender Number and Tender Name should be addressed to:

Tenders will be opened immediately thereafter in the KURA Boardroom on 3rd   Floor, Tower B, IKM Place, 5thNgong Avenue in the presence of tenderers or their representatives who choose to attend.  Late bids will not be accepted.
