separating it from the direct control of the Ministry of Health.
NHIF has
decentralized its operations to 62 branches and has an office in every county.
To deliver its services NHIF has contracted a wide network of providers to
offer outpatient and inpatient. The Government has initiated fundamental
reforms with strong emphasis being placed in public sector, privatization,
market liberalization, financial and capital market reforms
Currently,
NHIF has a membership of 17.9 Million principal members with 6.6 Million dependants
drawn from the formal and informal sectors.
The Fund
collects its deductions through a network of over 100,000 employers, utilizing
