TENDER NOTICE
|
The Kenya
Urban Roads Authority (KURA) is a State Corporation in the Ministry of
Transport and Infrastructure (MOTI); established under Kenya Roads Act, 2007
with the core mandate of management, development, rehabilitation and
maintenance of all public Roads in Cities and Municipalities in Kenya except
where those roads are National Roads. As a leading Government Agency with the
above mandate, KURA wishes to invite bids from eligible construction companies
for road works as described below to be funded through Road Maintenance Levy
Fund (RMLF) and Development Vote. (DEV)
Interested bidders
MUST be registered with the National Construction Authority (NCA) in various
categories as indicated below:-

Bidders may examine and obtain detailed tender
documents during normal working hours, from the KURA Procurement Offices at
Nairobi Region, Lower Eastern Region, South Rift Region, Garissa and Coast
Region upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only) for each document
in form of a Bankers Cheque payable
to the Kenya Urban Roads Authority. The same information may be accessed in our
website at www.kura.go.ke/tenders . Bidders
who will have purchased documents will be required to attach a copy of an
official receipt as proof of payment. For those who will download the document,
they will be required to provide their details by registering at the respective
region procurement office immediately after the site visit. No bidder shall be awarded more than one
contract.
Qualification for Tendering
(Mandatory)
The bidders
are expected to include certified copy by a Commissioner for Oaths of each of
the following:-
(a) Certificate of Registration/Incorporation
(b) Valid Tax Compliance Certifícate
(c) Registration Certificate with the National
Construction Authority in the stated categories
(d) Current CR12 Form -(12 Months) from Registrar
of Companies
The criteria of evaluation of bids
The criteria
shall be as described in the tender documents.
Description of Works
The
description and scope of works is as described in the tender documents.
Mandatory
site visits and/or Bidders’ Conference shall be held on the date and time as
per the schedule below, starting at the Regional Manager’s Offices. Bidders
are required to be represented by a technical person with Civil Engineering
background who should come with a National Identification card or passport and
an introduction letter from the bidder.
Prices quoted
should include all taxes and must be expressed in Kenya Shillings and shall
remain valid for a period of 90 days from the date of tender opening.
