CITY
WATER SUPPLY PROJECT- PHASE
IB
Tanathi Water Services Board, is a state corporation under
the Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources created under section
51 of the Water Act 2002 vide legal Notice No.69 dated 4th June 2008.The board
has the legal mandate of ensuring efficient and economical provision of water
services within its area of jurisdiction which covers Kajiado, Makueni,
Machakos and Kitui Counties.

Tanathi Water Services Board Invites Bids from Eligible
bidders for the following:
CONSTRUCTION OF KONZA TECHNO CITY WATER
SUPPLY PROJECT- PHASE IB
TENDER No: TAWSB/004/2014-2015
2.
The scope of works involve but not limited to
the following :
Scope of works:
·
Laying of rising mains of the following
specifications:
·
1.4Km, 50mm dia. UPVC pipeline
·
1.2Km, 63mm dia. UPVC pipeline
·
1.5Km, 90mm dia. UPVC pipeline
·
0.7Km, 50mm dia. UPVC pipeline
·
0.4Km, 75mm dia. UPVC pipeline
·
Laying of gravity main lines of the following
specifications:
·
4.5Km, 110mm dia. UPVC pipeline
·
3.5Km, 110mm dia. UPVC pipeline
·
Fabrication and erection of 2No. 250m3 elevated
steel tanks

Tanathi Water Services Board now invites sealed
bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the execution of the above works.
4.
Bidding will be conducted through the National
Competitive Bidding procedures specified by the Government of Kenya Public
Procurement rules and procedures (The Public Procurement and Disposal Act 2005;
www.ppoa.go.ke), and is open to all bidders registered in Kenya as defined in
the Bidding Documents.

and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below
from 0800 hours to 1700 hours local time from Monday to Friday, except during
lunch hour (1300 hours to 1400 hours), weekends and public holidays.
6.
The Application must be clearly marked
“Tender for Construction of Konza Techno City Water Supply Project- Phase IB
TAWSB/004/2014-2015”.
7.
Qualifications requirements include:
a)
Experience as prime contractor in the
construction of at least 2 works of a nature and complexity equivalent
to the Works over the last 5 years (to comply with this requirement,
works cited should be at least 50 percent complete);
b)
Proposals for the timely acquisition (own,
lease, hire, etc.) of the essential equipment
c)
Liquid assets and/or credit facilities, net of
other contractual commitments and exclusive of any advance payments which may
be made under the Contract, of not less than KShs 20,000,000
d)
The Contractor must possess Class C or higher
registration with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural resources and
registered with the National Construction Authority.
8.
A consistent history of litigation or
arbitration awards for the Applicant or any partner of a Joint Venture may
result in disqualification.
9.
Joint Ventures are not permitted for this
project.
10.
A complete set of Bidding Documents in English
language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
Application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of
KSh 1,000 (or equivalent in freely convertible currency). The method of
payment will be cash or bankers cheque. The Bidding Documents will be collected
from the address below upon production of a purchase receipt.
11.
Bids must be delivered to the address below
at or before 1200 hours East Africa time on 11st September 2014.
Electronic bidding shall not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected and returned
to the Bidder un-opened. Bids will be opened physically in the presence of the
bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address
thereafter.
12.
A pre-tender site visit shall be held on
2nd September 2014 at Konza Techno City Pavilion Grounds, at 11.00Hrs.
13.
All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid
Security of 2% of the Tender Amount.
